If you want to relax – choose Rome! A city that was once called the “caput mundi” or City of the World is obviously going to be well used to impress its visitors. The magnificent monuments and ancient buildings that are scattered generously around the whole city are and will be a constant reminder of the magnitude of what this city’s history achieved, and you’ll certainly be enveloped by the history of this metropolis.
There are a lot of ways how to relax in Rome. Something that Italy as a whole is famous for is its amazing culinary skills and beautiful dining experiences. You will have more excellent restaurants to choose from than you’ll possibly be able to manage to fit into your holiday’s time frame, but it’s good to know that when you do need a good meal you’ll be hard pressed not to find one.
Once in Rome, if you like to relax by visiting sightseeings, you should check out the world famous Coliseum, Forums and Baths which offer a real feeling of what these places would have been like centuries ago. The baths themselves where completed in the third century, and in their prime would cater for 1,600 bathers at any one time!
If you want to see all of Rome’s history in one place the museum of Palazzo Venezia offers anything from paintings and tapestries to the treasures of past Caesars. During holidays or special occasions there are special exhibitions on while the museum hosts items from other world renowned museums.
Parco Appio Claudio is a beautiful park within the city and makes a brilliant location for somewhere to relax after a busy days tourism or shopping in the city centre. You’ll most likely find some talented street entertainment putting on a show for those taking some time out of their schedule to relax for a while.

Sounds lovely – shame I doubt I’ll ever have the occasion to visit, but still nice to read about. Hope to see more interesting posts soon.
