Here is the latest update about wonderful Places In Europe to visit this summer.
Many of us are tired of working day in and day out and sometimes we think that we just needed to reward ourselves with a little break. I did what my heart told me and then poof, just like that, bought a ticket to Brussels to spend a week-end after long months of practically all work and no rest.
Before I go to Brussels, I checked out a couple of hotels in the city. I thought that it should be a great vacation, so I chose the best option I have in terms of location and service. I chose Rocco Forte’s Amigo Hotel. I reserved a room set on my flight’s arrival and set my mind forget about work for at least two days.
The Amigo Hotel is located at the center of Brussels, near the most historic places and overlooking the Grand Place, one of Europe’s oldest and most beautiful squares. I was worried a little about moving around the city without a vehicle but the Hotel’s location allowed me to go to interesting places by just walking.
Upon my arrival at the Amigo Hotel, I found myself busy looking around the place. I might have looked like an over excited typical tourist but, hey, it’s my first time in Brussels. Looking at the hotel’s exterior, I can tell that the building is quite old. Being a lover of history myself, I began asking the hotel’s host about the history of the place.
The restoration done on the building was delicately managed to preserve the hotel’s historic areas. Though there have been many redecorations like the art deco style and contemporary style in various rooms, Amigo Hotel pretty much preserved its much of its designs as it were centuries ago. It was very luxurious but was not too flamboyant and overwhelming, it gave you more of an at-home feeling which I liked very much. I also tried the food in the Hotel’s Brocconi restaurant. The restaurant serves various Italian and Mediterranean foods which I found very exquisite.
My two-day vacation in Brussels flew by fast but I had a wonderful time staying in Amigo Hotel. I certainly didn’t regret for a bit leaving work even if my papers piled up the day when I returned. I’m definitely looking forward for another vacation in Brussels.
